On October 7th, 2009, the Flashdeckanimations YouTube channel uploaded a video featuring animated stick figures playing Counter-Strike (shown below, right). On July 23rd, 2008, YouTuber Machinima uploaded a video featuring a children-themed version of the game titled "Counter-Strike for Kids," gathering more than 17.5 million views and 53,900 comments in six years. In the first eights years, the videos garnered upwards of 8.8 million and 12.6 million views respectively. On April 10th, YouTuber cukrius posted a live action parody of Counter-Strike titled "Counterstrike in REAL" (shown below, right). On March 27th, 2006, YouTuber jackyaka posted a stop motion animation video featuring LEGO blocks playing a game of Counter-Strike (shown below, left). On August 21st, the /r/counterstrike subreddit was created for discussions pertaining to the game series.
On April 15th, 2009, a Facebook page titled "CounterStrike" was launched, garnering over 6.4 million likes in the next five years. On June 16th, 2005, the Counter-Strike Wiki was created, which accumulated upwards of 600 pages in the following nine years. If any CT or Terrorist kills a hostage, game will deduct some credit from that player. Hostage: The CTs attempt to rescue a group of hostages while the Terrorists work to prevent them from doing so.Terrorists can win by killing all enemies but the CTs must also defuse the bomb prior to detonation upon killing the entire enemy team. Defuse: The Terrorists' goal is to plant and defend a C4 bomb until detonation, while the CTs' is to defuse it.There are several different game modes which provide different goals for each team to win.
